And to serve customers' expanding needs, Midwest secured AIB food grade certification and added 25,000 sq ft of air conditioned sstorage to its corporate warehouse facility in Woodridge, IL. Barrett Distribution Acquires Memphis, TN Meritex Third generation family run Barrett Distribution Centers is celebrating phenomenal growth in their 70th year. Barrett acquired the 650,000 sq ft, fully-equipped Meritex facility in Memphis, TN, and in so doing, took over a "high-performing team and strong customer base," said Arthur Barrett. "We also like the location, the rail capacity and the refrigerated space in the Meritex facility, which has allowed us to jump start our entry into the Memphis market." The former Meritex facility boasts 150 truck doors and 27 rail doors dedicated to accommodating large volume requirements. DCA Members States Logistics Adds Solar to Power Distribution Facility The 363 kilowatt solar power system on the roof of States Logistics' DC in Buena Park, CA will produce up to 82% of the distribution facility's electricity needs. Developed, designed and installed by SPG Solar, the system consists of 1000+ solar panels and is projected to generate 560,000+ kWh annually, (equivalent to powering 51 average US homes year after year) - and to reduce State Logistics electricity expense by up to $76.5K per yr. S. Allen Brown was recently promoted from the company's vice president and director of operations to the president of The Belt's Corporation. In his new position, Allen replaces his father S.A.
